He was hit on the head by a cricket ball at the age of 18 months, which has resulted in a lifelong passion for the game
He became head boy at school – first leadership role - and since learned that we influence others every day without necessarily realising it.
He worked in his early management career in the betting office trade, where he learned that 'people work for people' and that customer’s perception is everything.
He moved in 1988 into HR with Ladbroke Racing, his operational management background has been a crucial factor in his development as an HR professional.
He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, the British Psychological Society and the Institute of Directors.
He has suffered close family bereavement and three redundancies which have been character building and helped him to help others through tough situations.
He was previously Culture Director with The Consortium, where he experience every aspect of HR.
He believes good self esteem is the key to success.
He believes work, like cricket is a 'team game' – as is life itself.
He believes getting results at work and having fun are not mutually exclusive!
